Values and Ethos
At Stroud Green School we strive to create a better world for our children. We do this by ensuring that all the children are trusted, valued and heard. We aim to facilitate an environment in which everyone is treated equally and fairly and every voice is listened to. We work very closely with families, governors and the local community to ensure that the children in our care are receiving the best education possible.
We encourage our children to question the status quo and be a force for good. We admit that the world is not perfect and empower our children to take ownership of their role as young people, learning from the mistakes of the past, and ensuring a better future for our planet and everyone on it.
We strive for academic excellence by opening up dialogue about important, relevant subjects via our oracy-based, progressive and outward-looking curriculum. We give children time and space to ask questions and take risks. We are a growth mindset school and we all learn and grow together as we tackle new challenges.
We actively celebrate diversity and difference and we are proud of all the members of our school community. We support children to understand that they are one child, in one school in one city on this planet - but they can make a difference*.
Stroud Green School is a children-first school; we cannot be sure what the future holds for these young people, so our vision is to ensure our pupils enjoy their time at Stroud Green while they grow and learn. Through enjoyment and being empowered, we aim to facilitate their development into well-rounded, confident, reflective and responsible global citizens.
