Nursery
Our Nursery has a mixture of part-time & full time places for children from 1 to 4 years. The child care is divided across three main teaching rooms, Caterpillars, Cocoons and Butterflies. The Nursery opened in September 2017 and operates out of a separate building on our school site.
Our Staff Team
At Stroud Green we have an enthusiastic team of Early Years Practitioners who are committed to providing the highest quality care for your children. Our practitioners are selected following a rigorous recruitment process, during which we take into account qualifications, experience and commitment. All practitioners have access to a wide range of training programs throughout the year enabling them to continually build on their skills and knowledge. At Stroud Green we pride ourselves on the high qualifications of our staff team.
Our Provision
The Nursery has provision for children aged between one and five years. This includes our Caterpillar room (one to two years), our Cocoon room (two to three years) and our Butterfly room (three to five years). Each room is split into the age ranges as detailed above to ensure that the provision can be closely matched to your child’s interests and stage of development. The Nursery also has a large outdoor area allocated to each room, which all of the children access on a daily basis. You can find out more about what we do throughout the year in the various rooms here

Settling In
Starting nursery or moving from another setting can be a worrying time for both you and your child. In order to help you feel happy and secure at Stroud Green, our settling in process is flexible to ensure your child’s individual needs are met.
To ensure that parents/carers feel confident that their child is happy and secure at Stroud Green', we provide unlimited and flexible settling in periods designed to meet the individual needs of your child. Practitioners within each room are there to support the settling in sessions and to answer any questions or queries. Practitioners will spend time getting to know you, your child and your family to ensure positive relationships are built right from the very beginning.
Key Person Approach
During your settling in sessions at Stroud Green you will be introduced to your child’s key person, who has special responsibilities for working with you and your child and giving them the reassurance to feel safe and cared for during their time at nursery. Your key person will spend time building a close relationship with you and your child to ensure that they can fully meet your needs. Your key person will also spend a lot of time talking to you and observing your child to find out about their individual interests and will use this information to plan exciting experiences for them each day.
