Haringey Music Service
We strongly believe that every child is entitled to a stimulating, challenging and accessible educational experience in music. Haringey Music Service (HMS) is a vibrant and busy organisation through which young people are nurtured and encouraged to build on their musical ability and experiences, and strengthen their:
- skills
- knowledge
- understanding and
- appreciation of music as an art form
Haringey Music Service (HMS) is the lead partner of the Haringey Music Education Hub, which receives funding from Arts Council England. Haringey Music Education Hub is also a member of Music-8-London, a partnership of 8 neighbouring hubs, working together to share good practice and explore musical opportunities for children and young people.
What we do
HMS coordinates individual, group and whole class instrumental and vocal music tuition at Stroud Green, drawing on the services of a highly skilled and carefully vetted team of over 150 freelance tutors, most of whom are also performing musicians in London orchestras, bands and beyond. HMS organises concerts, festivals, conferences and concert tours locally, regionally and around the world, enjoying an excellent reputation for its quality, inclusivity and originality.
