Feminist Club
The Feminist Club is a group of children dedicated to advocating for equitable treatment, rights, and opportunities for women and girls in our school, local communities and on a broader scale. We focus on topics like understanding what feminism really means and why feminism matters today, as well as promoting the idea that all people are equal regardless of gender. As a club, we meet with Lucy our head teacher each Friday lunch time. We discuss and share books about feminism, make posters, and plan how we can share our knowledge with the rest of our peers. We have even made it into the local paper.
In November we were lucky to have special visitors. Karrie Fransman and Jonathan Plackett come and discuss their book "Gender swapped Fairytales". Feminist club had lots of great questions for them.
