Admissions

Choosing the right primary school for your child is an important decision.

Our advice is to find out as much as possible about your local schools before you submit your application. We think it is essential for parents to visit each school during the working day to experience its unique ethos and atmosphere. At Stroud Green we make individual appointments for parents to be shown around our school. During this tour, parents can ask any questions and find out more information. During busy periods, i.e. Reception admission times (Sept-Jan), you may be shown around in a larger group, but you can request an individual meeting if you so wish.

To make an appointment to visit Stroud Green Primary School, have a tour of the school and meet our team,  please phone the school office. Alternatively you can email us directly through our contacts page.

You can see our admissions policy here.

Reception Admissions

All children in Haringey enter the Reception class in the September of the school year in which they will be five. Some children will move up from local nurseries and others come from home or childminders. We have places for 60 Reception children each year.  PLEASE NOTEAlthough we have our own nursery at Stroud Green, this does not guarantee automatic admission into our Reception cohort and all parents will need to formally apply.

To make an application, parents should contact their local authority. So for example, if you live on the Islington side of Stroud Green Road, you apply to Islington even through the school is in Haringey, Please see the links below for more information:

Our Reception year school admissions are handled entirely by Haringey Council and our admissions policy is that of Haringey Council. The admissions criteria gives priority based on children with special educational needs or disabilities, children looked after by the local authority or post-adoption, siblings already at school and distance from school. (In that order for priority)

Applications for the September 2024 intake need to be made by January 15th 2024. For further information please contact Rhonda at assistanthead@stroudgreenprimary.com

Admissions after the initial Reception intake

Entry to classes in Stroud Green Primary School after the initial Reception intake is dependent on the availability of places. Please contact the school office for further information.
