ScienceAt Stroud Green Primary School we believe that Science offers a structured approach to children's learning. By providing contexts for stimulating a child's natural curiosity to understand and explore the world, we help children to develop their thinking skills.
We aim to instil a love of Science and a sense of wonder at the world around us. Every child will begin to ask scientific questions about how things work and why. This questioning will act as a starting point for their learning. As part of the new curriculum, children will carry out practical investigations to answer scientific questions and will be expected to think about how their findings link into what they already know about the world.
All pupils will be taught essential aspects of the knowledge, methods, processes and uses of science. They will be expected to work scientifically, showing a measured, rational and precise approach to their learning.
Our science will also connect into other areas of the curriculum such as English and Maths and will be supported by visits to The Science Museum, Horniman Museum and even Mud Larking on the River Thames!
