Attainment & Progress
At Stroud Green our top priority is to support every child to enjoy learning and do their very best. We need our children to be leaving Stroud Green with the confidence and ability to succeed in secondary school and later life.
We assess each childs' progress and attainment once a term. Teachers will assess where the children are against end of year expectations. Each child will be below expected, at expected or above expected standards. This information is reported to parents in Spring term. You can view these standards and expectations in the links below.
In nursery and reception we collect evidence on a regular basis and link it to the Early Years Curriculum. Teachers will assess children against their age band. This is recorded electronically using 'Tapestry'. You can find more information on this here.
Children in Years 2 and 6 will take SATs tests in the summer term. These tests cover Reading, Maths and Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar. The outcomes of these will be reported to parents. We will shortly be publishing a parent guide regarding this along side parent meetings.
In Year 1 children are tested on their phonics knowledge in a phonics screening exercise. Children will work on a 1 to 1 basis with a known adult to complete this process in the summer term.
Examples of all these materials can be found here.
Information about the school’s performance is listed on the Department for Education (DfS) website.
